Now here comes the fun part. The jin "pole" in this case is a piece of wood. Rope is tied to tower section, tower section is pulled up and dropped into position.
IMG_3667.JPG
fewer sections on ground, more on tower.

He keeps going up and up. That power line looks deceptively close. Its actually a fair bit away.

Heres a comparative shot of satellite tower, old mast for HF on chimney. you can see the "appliance" satellite tv dish. (starchoice)

I wanted to get a shot of the pair of towers. Pretty hard to get far enough back in the yard, and the foilage in the back of the yard shows up.

IMG_3678.JPG
A fairly clear shot of midway through the installation. Hf tower is now higher than the sat tower.

That poor alpha-delta sloper is way too low. I meant to ask Greg to move it up the satellite tower a bit.

So this is everything up. rotator bearings and supports. Not sure just what I will put up there. I am thinking 6m, 222mhz, 2m, and a small tribander for HF. Though, I would not mind the WARC bands too. We'll see. 222mhz and 2m might just be FM for now i.e. copper pipe antennas mounted off the side of the tower.

A view further back in the yard.

Another view.

Heres a view from the front of the house. You can see the satellite tower on the left, though its hidden in the trees a bit.

Another view, a bit better view.
